Hair Loss Prevention Product

Using a hair loss prevention product is not necessarily going to stop your hair loss. The main reason for this is that we don’t have a one stop cure for hair loss whether it’s for men or women.

Also men and women differ in the type of hair loss. Men suffer more from genetic related hair loss and women from hormonal imbalance hair loss. Womens hair loss is more easily treatable and approximates more closely a cure, except for alopecia areata (round bald patches of varied size) which can and often does recur.

For men, in particular, once thinning hair is recognized then early action is indeed the best course of action. Let me explain why briefly.

Firstly the cause of hair loss is a compound called DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) which is formed from the combination of Testosterone and 5-alpha-reductase. With men the production of DHT is much greater and for some reason, not quite known yet, harder to remove from the hair follicles. Any potentially successful hair loss treatments for men will ‘focus’ on inhibiting this process.

The effect of DHT within the follicle is to cause the growth of hair strands to stop or at best thin. It doesn’t kill the follicle or prevent the follicle from reproducing hair again. This is important as a successful hair loss prevention product will interrupt this cycle thus allowing the follicle to regenerate and the hair to regrow.

However for men this is a much slower process as the DHT within the follicle is harder to get rid of compared to women.

As you can probably gauge from this so far is that once thinning has started the process gets harder to reverse the more advanced it gets! This is the reason why early action is vital.

Now something that the sellers of hair loss prevention products won’t tell you straight off the bat is that once you start (if you’re a man) you can’t stop. In nearly all cases I’m familiar with those men that did stop thinking that the hair loss had stopped ended up losing more hair as the hair loss/thinning returned with a vengeance. So think carefully before starting!

For women the situation is different. Quite often hair loss/thinning can be caused by hormonal imbalances whether that has been caused by menopause or coming of taking the contraception pill. The treatment usually involves restoring the hormonal imbalance and hair regrowth usually is noticeable after 3 months.

As I said before this is not necessarily the case with alopecia areata which involves much more prolonged treatment and can recur again.

The best hair loss prevention product for men and women is Provillus hair loss treatment as it attacks the DHT ‘in the follicle’ using  FDA approved Minoxidil and doesn’t destroy testosterone in other parts f the body as far as men are concerned which is vital. Secondly there is a specialty for women as well making it effective for hair loss restoration and prevention.
