Topical Hair Loss Treatment – Which Is The Best Product?

[ad#Hair Loss]

Topical hair loss treatment has been around for centuries and in most cases it’s been useless. If there had been any astounding successes then there would be no bald men a round as that ‘magical cure’ would have completely permeated our civilization! Now that doesn’t mean that there are no hair loss treatments that are successful.

In fact alopecia(baldness) is much more easily treated and reversed than it ever has and the reason for those is we now know so much more about the causes of hair loss and this enables us to help solve the problem.

What topical treatments are available?

There are 3 major products that come to mind that are effective and many others that don’t make the grade. The three are Procerin, Propecia and Provillus. Each has their weaknesses and strengths which I will cover briefly.

Procerin

Procerin is a completely natural treatment for hair loss that contains amongst other herbs Saw Palmetto. The Saw Palmetto compound is one which interrupts the production of harmful enzymes to hair follicles. The compound blocks that action of dehydotestosterone (DHT) which has been proven to cause hair loss and thinning hair.

The only draw back that Procerin may have is that the DHT inhibiting capability is weaker than the ‘semi natural’ Provillus. This however is more acceptable for women and is ideal as women tend to have hair loss that is more easily treatable than men and therefore a higher strength is not needed.

Propecia

As a topical hair replacement treatment Propecia is one of the most well known. A prescription is required for Propecia and even though it is an FDA approved hair growth drug it is so strong it is designed only for men. The ingredients of Propecia are so potent that the FDA says neither women nor children should even be permitted to touch it. It’s side effects include fainting, sexual dysfunction, skin rash, pain in the testicles, dizziness and weakness.

Additionally pregnant women are not to handle Propecia as it can trigger off gender problems and birth defects in unborn children. So this is a NO NO! The irony is that many men will use Propecia as it is effective but in my view it’s not worth the associated side effects and is definitely too strong and dangerous for women.

Provillus

As I mentioned previously, Provillus is a bit of a ‘middle way’. Provillus contains all the ingredients of Procerin but contains a milder compound called Minoxidil which is also an FDA approved drug for hair loss but seems to have much reduced side effects than its Propecia counterpart. Tests have been carried out in laboratories that seem to suggest that as a topical hair loss treatment Provillus is one of the best if not the best hair loss treatment available.
